Our move is now slowly over, but somehow not the trailer-life. Almost three months ago we started moving our office and private facility and soon we can finally greet you at another location… we are so looking forward to it! But until then we’re still on the road – sometimes without really seeing the end of the trailer at the back, or rather the end of the classic car on top … Our Woodie weighs a stately 2,3t and is almost 5,70m long, quite a challenge for a few trailers out there and some towing vehicles, nearing their limits. Thankfully, Gents Barn is always focused on safety, so we always double check everything before we set off and cover more than 550km to our new home. So far without major problems – keep your fingers crossed that it stays that way … Ahoy and see you soon, your Gents Barn team!
On the last day of May, we said goodbye to the beautiful Möhler Castle and are now moving our complete furniture and inventory until the end of August (with keel and without). At the end of August there will be the last big step with five large lorries filling up and driving up north. A great new place with lots of opportunities, to experience a beautiful new landscape and to get in contact with many new customers. We are looking forward to it! Stay true to us and see you soon! Your Gents Barn-Team PS: And if you see us from time to time on the German highway with a nice vintage car on the trailer – then just wave at us! 🙂
With the title “Double Woodie time in Germany,” our beautiful Chrysler Town & Country 2-door Newport Coupe (yes, that’s actually the official name of this vehicle in 1950!) was featured in the latest issue of the American Woodie Club (NWC) magazine – the NWC being the largest club for all wood-paneled vintage cars in the United States and worldwide. Of course we were extremely happy about this great article and the feedback from the club members was very positive. Many thanks to the editors of the NWC magazine and greetings across the great pond. Let’s hope for more Woodie friends here in Europe. The team of Gents Barn likes to work on this beautiful goal for sure!
Even if we did not open our showroom at Easter, we wish all our friends, customers and prospects a relaxing, sunny and beautiful Easter. See you soon here at Gents Barn!
After more than 16 months of restoration and reconstruction, our legendary Gar Wood Speedster “Miss Persia” was once again a gem at a boat show, this time the 50th edition of Boot Düsseldorf, the world’s largest trade fair for boats and water sports. Almost 83 years after our Speedster was Gar Wood’s show boat at North America’s premier trade show of the Thirties, the Chicago Boat Show of 1936, we can once again presented the new hull and beautiful deck structure – along with some of the original chrome attachments – to the more than interested crowd. A true jewel and a shining example of a 100% faithful reconstruction and restoration. Thanks for visiting us and our trusted shipyard!
Dear Gents Barn & Ladies Cottage Fans,
We wish you all a wonderful, healthy and happy New Year!
With a look at 2019 we can only tell you – stay tuned, because in the next months we will visit many events and fairs – and we start directly in a few days. More about this soon.
All the best to you and your families,
Your Gents Barn & Ladies Cottage Team
It’s been a real pleasure opening the mail today! Brooke Hartle, librarian at the Antique Boat Museum, was so kind to send us a copy of the latest Gazette, ABM’s own news magazine – and seeing our great little story from Miss Persia in it. What a nice way of celebrating the first advent. Have a joyful pre-Christmas time everyone.
There are only about four weeks until Christmas and one or the other is already looking for a nice gift for his loved ones – we recommend of course a visit to our showroom: Whether antique, high-gloss fire extinguishers from the 30s to 50s, the latest fashion by Holebrook Sweden, fascinating reading material by Delius Klasing or all-natural perfume by April Aromatics, we always have the right idea for you! The most beautiful present for us is currently being created in one of the best restoration workshops for mahogany boats in Germany! Look forward to the resurrection of Miss Persia – the Gar Wood Speedster delivered to the Shah of Persia in 1936. No matter which gift you choose, we wish our customers and interested parties a wonderful Advent season – see you soon, here at beautiful Möhler Castle.
